About Bass Coast Cat Traps
More than 1 million native Australian birds are killed across the country by cats every day.
A study, published in the journal Biological Conversation, estimates feral cats kill 316 million birds a year, while pet cats kill 61 million birds annually. More than 99% are native.
In response to Bass Coast Council new laws surrounding free roaming cats we decided to hire out traps and help people protect wildlife or have unlawful cats removed from their property.

Bass Coast 24-7 Cat Containment Law
Bass Coast Shire Council in Victoria's south-east has implemented a 24-7 cat containment order, which means cats must stay on their own property at all times. It's part of a desperate move to protect local wildlife, including the region's world famous penguins at Phillip Island
Under the new domestic animal management plan, owners will face a fine if their cat is caught off their property from July 2023.
